A FIELD GUIDE TO UNNECESSARY SOFTWARE
How to share your useless app.
Uselss Store is a free community showcase for playful apps, web experiments and beautifully unnecessary software. Publish a page with screenshots and links so people can try your creation, react to it and discover its maker.

What belongs here?
A clock that refuses to tell the time. An elaborate animation with one button. A weekend experiment that made you laugh. These are examples of the kind of work we welcome, not claims about apps currently listed. Your project can be made with AI tools or written entirely by hand.
Publish work you own, describe it honestly and provide working links. You do not need a company, revenue or a practical use case. Browse credited editor picks for inspiration.
Prepare your app page
- Name and one-line pitch: say what happens when someone uses it.
- Description: explain the experience and its requirements or limitations.
- Cover image: a static PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 5 MiB.
- Demo photos: optionally add up to five extra images in the web form, up to 4 MiB each. Drag and drop or select files. They appear on the app detail page.
- Links: add a website, GitHub repository or release, App Store, Android destination or YouTube/Loom demo as available.
Images are validated, resized and re-encoded without location metadata. Installers and executable files stay on external download providers.
Publish from your browser
- Sign in with Google and open the submission form.
- Fill in the details, attach a cover and optional demo photos, and wait for uploads to finish.
- Publish and share your app’s public page. Use My apps to edit it or take it off the public shelf.
Visitors can browse public app pages without signing in. Google sign-in is needed to publish and react.
Publish with Claude, Codex or another coding agent
Create a personal API key in account settings and store it in your environment. The CLI can publish and update an app without navigating the website. Reuse one external ID so updates stay on the same public page.
The current CLI and API support a cover image and demo-video links. Add the optional photo gallery through the web form; API updates preserve existing gallery images. Start with the developer guide and dry-run command.
Where should downloads live?
For a downloadable desktop app, publish the installer on GitHub Releases and link to its release page. For a browser app, link directly to the website. Mobile apps can link to the App Store or an Android destination. Explain installation steps and platform requirements in your description.
What happens after publishing?
Members can react to your app and help it appear in weekly and monthly rankings. You may also enter a weekly themed challenge. Challenge votes are separate from ordinary app reactions; check the round’s dates and voting rules.
Publishing and challenge entry are free. External apps may have their own prices. For questions, read the FAQ or contact x@seongsu.live.
